— The No. 3 seed University of Hawai'i men's basketball team opens the Hercules Tires Big West Championship with a quarterfinal match-up on Thursday, March 9. Tipoff is at 6:00 p.m. PT/3:00 p.m. HT at The Dollar Loan Center. UH faces No. 7 CSUN, an 87-84 overtime winner over UC Santa Barbara in Wednesday's opening round.

GAME STORY LINES
- For the second time in the last three years, UH is the No. 3 seed in the Big West Championships.
- The Rainbow Warriors face No. 7 CSUN, an 87-84 overtime winner over No. 6 UC Santa Barbara in Wednesday's opening-round match-up.
- The teams split the regular-season series and met just one week ago in Honolulu with UH holding off the Matadors for a 72-70 home win.
- This will be just the second Big West Tournament meeting between the teams. CSUN defeated UH, 87-84 in overtime in the 2014 quarterfinals in Anaheim, Calif.
- After starting Big West play at 2-6, UH won nine of its last 12 games to finish 11-9. The 'Bows have yet to have a losing conference mark in 12 years in the Big West.
