GAME STORY LINES
  • For the second time in the last three years, UH is the No. 3 seed in the Big West Championships.
  • The Rainbow Warriors face No. 7 CSUN, an 87-84 overtime winner over No. 6 UC Santa Barbara in Wednesday's opening-round match-up.
  • The teams split the regular-season series and met just one week ago in Honolulu with UH holding off the Matadors for a 72-70 home win.
  • This will be just the second Big West Tournament meeting between the teams. CSUN defeated UH, 87-84 in overtime in the 2014 quarterfinals in Anaheim, Calif.
  • After starting Big West play at 2-6, UH won nine of its last 12 games to finish 11-9. The 'Bows have yet to have a losing conference mark in 12 years in the Big West.
  • UH is one win shy of its second consecutive 20-win season. The last time UH had consecutive 20-win seasons was during a three-year run from 2014-16.
  • UH has gone 7-2 since suffering a season-worst 25-point loss at UC Irvine on Feb. 3.
  • In those last nine games UH has shot 49% from the floor, 41% on threes and 76% from the foul line.
  • UH has built double-digit leads in seven of its last eight games. UH won six of those seven contests, only squandering an 11-point advantage in the first half at UC Santa Barbara.
  • The 'Bows aim to make the tournament semifinals for the second time in three seasons and the finals for the first time since 2016.
  • UH is 1-3 all-time in the Dollar Loan Center, including 1-2 in the Big West Championship.
  • UH is led by second-team all-Big West pick Justin McKoy and senior captains Noel Coleman and Bernardo da Silva who earned honorable mention.
UH IN THE BIG WEST TOURNAMENT
  • UH makes its 11th appearance in the Big West Tournament.
  • The 'Bows are 6-9 (.400) all-time.
  • UH has one tournament title (2016).
  • UH has reached the finals twice ('15, '16).
  • UH was knocked out in the quarterfinals in its seven other appearances (13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23) and reached the semifinals in 2022.
  • This is the second time UH is the No. 3 seed in the Big West Tournament (1-1).
  • The 'Bows are 4-3 overall as  a higher seed in the Big West Tournament
