SAN PEDRO Calif. — The University of Hawai'i coed sailing team placed sixth Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup completed Sunday in San Pedro, Calif.
The Rainbows entered the regatta as the defending champion and finished with 53 points in the three-day event to match host California Maritime Academy for fifth place. The Keelhaulers were awarded the tiebreaker based on head-to-head results.
Maine Maritime Academy captured the title with 32 points followed by Southern California (39), Navy (41) and College of Charleston (47) in the 10-team event. UH placed third in three of the 10 races, including Sunday's finale, competed in lighter winds compared to the previous two days of sailing off of Point Fermin.

The 'Bows are next scheduled to compete in the PCCSC South Designate set for March 23 and 24 in Los Angeles.
