HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team opens their season hosting #10 Florida State and #43 SMU in the 2025 Mānoa Classic on Friday, Jan. 3 and Saturday, Jan. 4. The Rainbow Warriors will follow up with dual matches against both schools. First, UH will take on the Seminoles on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 8:00 a.m. HT followed by the Mustangs on Monday, Jan. 6 at 10:00 a.m. HT. All matches will be played at the UH Tennis Complex.

HAWAI'I RAINBOW WARRIORS (0-0, Big West)
After posting a 9-4 record in the Fall, junior
Azuma Visaya enters the season ranked #77 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) poll. The UCLA transfer leads Hawai'i with the best record coming into the Spring.
Quinn Snyder,
Karl Collins and
Diego Dalisay all notched a pair of singles wins in the Fall.
In doubles, UH's Visaya and Snyder led UH with a 4-4 record. The UH duo fell in the ITA Conference Masters Championship semifinals in Rome, Ga. to Mississippi State's Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez, 7-6 (3), 6-3. Visaya and Snyder finished in fourth place in the tourney, but won the ITA tourney's Sportsmanship Award after being voted by the tournament competitors.

Series Record: FSU is 6-0 vs. UH
Streak: FSU has won all six matches.
Team notes: The Seminoles are the defending ACC champions. In singles, FSU are lead by ninth-ranked Corey Craig and 22nd-ranked Jamie Connel. Craig enters the season with an 8-2 record after advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals in singles, while Connel went 7-2 in the fall and finished in the NCAA Round of 32. The pair of Craig and Connel are also ranked at No. 47 in doubles. Florida State's Erik Schiessl and Joshua Dous-Karpenschirf are also ranked in doubles at No. 112.
#43 SMU MUSTANGS (0-0, Atlantic Coast)
Series Record: SMU, 4-0
Streak: SMU has won all four matches
Team Notes: SMU is in its first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Last year, the Mustangs advanced to the NCAA Championship's First Round after finished their final year in the American Athletic Conference at 5-1. Trevor Svajda is ranked at No. 48 after finishing the fall in the NCAA Singles Championship Round of 32 with a record of 8-4 to lead the Mustangs.
