Azuma Visaya notched their first victory of the season at the Intercollegiate Tennis Associan's (ITA)Â All-American Championships on Sunday. Due to inclement weather, all the prequalifying consolation matches were moved to the MIchael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State about an hour away in Stillwater, Okla...
The prequalifying singles matches were played in OSU's indoor facility. Li held off Tulsa's Gus Tettamble by a break in the first set., But Tettamble battled back to win the last two sets for the come-from-behine victory, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
As the skies cleared, UH played their doubles match outdoors.. UH's Li and Visaya recorded their first win of the season, downing Troy's Luciano Alcocer and Yeray Andres Pastora in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.Â
Hawai'i's 65th-ranked Visaya begins his singles competition in the All-American Main Draw on Wednesday. Sept. 24th.
