HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team's Rainbow Wahine Fall Invitational has been dealing with inclement weather conditions the past few days which has curtailed action at the UH Tennis Complex. On Friday, Hawai'i, Air Force, and Hawai'i Pacific was able to complete Thursday's singles matches, but the teams were unable to get through Friday's slate of matches.
 
The Rainbow Wahine won seven of Thursday's scheduled nine singles matches. Joelle Lanz held off Air Force's Shivaani Selvan by a break in both sets, 7-5, 7-5. UH freshman Makeilah Nepomuceno cruised in the first set then hung on to sweep the Falcons' Giovanna Sanchirico, 6-1, 6-4. UH's Emma Forgac swept Hawai'i Pacific's Jayanne Palma, 6-1, 6-3 while Allaire Berl knocked off HPU's Annika Hakovirta, 6-3, 6-4.
 
Hawai'i's Sheena Masuda won her first set but fell in the second before coming back to down Air Force's Maya Michalski, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Ana Vilcek also came back to win in three sets holding off AF's Alexis Odom by a break in the third, 6-2, 1-6, 7-5. Nikola Homolkova swept the Falcons' Nadia Kojonroj, 6-1, 6-4.
 
Two of Friday's originally scheduled doubles matches that were completed with UH's Lanz and Forgac defeating HPU's Sayda Hernanez and Annika Harkovirta, 6-4 and Vilcek and Homolkova nearly blanking Air Force's Odom and Michalski, 6-1.
 
Friday's suspended matches will resume on the morning of Sunday, Nov. 10 at 9:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
