Holly Nelson is the lone returnee of the 400 and 800 medley relay teams that earned gold in the MPSF Championships. Key members from last year's MPSF-title team including seniors Karol Ostrowski, Grant Stoddard and junior Mario Surkovic. Ostrowski and Stoddard broke school and MPSF Championship records in the 200 freestyle relay which secured gold and an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships. Surkovic was a member of last year's record breaking 800 freestyle relay team and also claimed an individual gold medal in the 200 freestyle at the MPSF Championships. The Warriors won all five of the meet's relay events, setting the MPSF Championship record with each victory. The trio of Ostrowski, Stoddard and Surkovic combined for 16 All-MPSF first team honors a season ago.
The Rainbow Warriors are members of The Big West for the first time after being members of seven previous conferences–the AAU in 1971 and the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) from 1974-75 during the developmental era. The UH men were then members of the NPCC in 1979, before joining the WAC from 1980-20001, the National Independent Conference from 2002-05, Conference USA 2006-11, and the MPSF from 2017-24.
