REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Both the coed and women's squads for University of Hawai'i sailing were in action this weekend in a pair of regattas hosted by Stanford in Northern California. The Rainbow Wahine finished second in the PCCSC Women's Fall Championship, while the coed team placed fourth in the Top-Nine Fall Invite. 

The women's team completed a total of 32 races - 16 in each A and B divisions during this regatta, finishing with 159 points in second place. Martha Schuessler and Morgan Carew competed in the A division while Malia Johnson and Elin Reigstad sailed in the B division. Host Stanford took first place with a regatta-low 64 points.

In the Top-Nine Fall Invite, the UH coed team also competed in 32 total races split evenly between A and B divisions. Hawai'i finished in fourth with 269 points, being slightly outpaced by third-place UC Santa Barbara and second-place Washington by 10 and 13 points, respectively. Host Stanford easily placed first with 73 points. UH's A division featured Everett McAvoy, Sophia Shaeffer, Kees Horn, and Vivian Bønsager, while Erik Anderson and Amanda Turner represented the B division.

The Rainbow Wahine sailors will be back in action on Nov. 9-10 in Tampa, Fla., when PCCSC champion Schuessler competes in the ICSA Singlehanded National Championship. The coed sailors return a week later on Nov. 16-17 for the PCCSC Fall Championship in Santa Barbara, Calif.
