SAN DIEGO, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team wrapped competition at the ITA Southwest Regionals on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Complex  in San Diego, Calif.

The Rainbow Wahine split their doubles matches with the duo of Sheena Masuda and Peppi Ramstedt pulling away from UC San Diego's Kelly Leung and Katelyn Vu, 6-2, while UH's Hannah Galindo and Makeilah Nepomuceno fell to UC Santa Barbara's Lucy Lu and Alexandra Benedetto, 6-3.

Although the 'Bows did not register a consolation singles win on Sunday, they all fought valiantly with four matches decided by a third set super tie-breaker. Ramstedt won the first set against USC's Lily Fairclough, but fell by a break in the second and was just edged out 10-8 in the third set super tie-breaker, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (8). Joelle Lanz also won her first set but UCLA's Mia Jovic evened things by winning the second set then holding off Lanz in the tie-breaker, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (7). UH's Masuda and LMU's Camilia Samuel Druz were locked in a battle as they each won a set by a break, but Samel Druz held off Masuda 10-5 in the tiebreaker for a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (5) win. UH's Emma Forgac kept fighting but fell in the super tie-breaker to San Diego State's Charlotte Rosech. 6-2. 2-6, 1-0 (7). UH's Hannah Galindo just came up short, falling by a break in two sets against Arizona State's Aiya Nupbay, 6-4, 7-5.

Hawai'i will host the Rainbow Wahine Fall Invitational from Nov. 7-9 at the UH Tennis Complex.
