SAN DIEGO, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continued play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Southwest Regionals in San Diego, Calif. on Saturday.
The Rainbow Wahine won two of their three doubles matches with
Hannah Galindo and
Makeilah Nepomuceno downing Long Beach State's Diana De Simene and Daisy Carpenter, 8-3 while UH's
Sheena Masuda and
Peppi Ramstedt doubled up on UC San Diego's Cincy Chen and Polina Jorniak, 8-4.
In singles,
Emma Forgac and Masuda were the two Rainbow Wahine to come away with victories on Saturday. Forgac cruised past Cal State Fullerton's Dana Kunza, 6-3, 6-1 while Masuda held off Loyola Marymount's Anastasia Bozova in straight sets, 7-6 (4), 6-2. Nepomuceno won her first set against CSUN's Victoria Santibanez Luna, but later fell in a third set super tiebreaker, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (6).
