HONOLULU – One of the hottest teams in the country and the current Big West leaders, Hawai'i returns home to host UC Riverside Sunday at 4 p.m.
The Rainbow Wahine will look to remain in the driver's seat in the conference race, having totaled 16 points through the first six matches of the season. UH owns a 6-5-2 lead in the all-time series vs. the Highlanders, including a 5-0 record in matches at Waipi'o.

Hawai'i heads into Sunday's match on a program-record eight-match unbeaten streak. The 'Bows have the ninth-longest active unbeaten streak in the country and have not lost since a Sept. 8 match at Eastern Washington. The Rainbow Wahine are also off to their best-ever start to conference play at 5-0-1, having won their first five Big West matches to become the first team in the league to start 5-0 since 2010. At 5-0-1 in Big West play, Hawai'i is off to its best conference start in program history. The Rainbow Wahine became the first Big West team to win its first five conference games since 2010 (UC Irvine) and currently sit atop the standings with 16 points. UH is two points ahead of UC Santa Barbara and six points up on Cal State Bakersfield.

Hawai'i has out-shot its opponent in 11 of the 6 matches while three of the top nine players in the Big West in shots per match are Rainbow Wahine.

True freshman
Nalani Damacion has gotten her collegiate career off to an impactful start, earning BIg West Freshman of the Week honors three times so far this season, including back-to-back weeks on Sept. 16 and 23. Damacion has delivered five game-winning goals to lead all freshmen nationally while sitting in a tie for second overall. Damacion also leads the Big West in game-winning goals, with two of her go-ahead scores coming in the final 10 minutes of matches. On the year, the Rocklin, Calif. native has five goals and 31 shot attempts and has started 13 matches. She is already tied for fourth in UH single-season history with her five game-winners and joins only Natasha Kai (2002, 2003, 2004) and Tiana Fujimoto (2007) as Rainbow Wahine players with at least five game-winners in a season.

After being thrown into the starting goalkeeper role in the second match of the season, redshirt freshman
Kennedy Justin has put together one of the best seasons ever by a UH keeper. Justin comes into Sunday's match with a school record five consecutive shutouts having not allowed a goal in 453 consecutive minutes. The Long Beach, Calif. is the two-time defending Big West Defensive Player of the Week and is already tied for fourth in school history with five solo shutouts.
