Davidson Elevated To Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach

HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i men's basketball head coach Eran Ganot has announced the promotion of Brad Davidson to associate head coach for the Rainbow Warriors.

Davidson enters his fourth season with the Rainbow Warriors having joined UH prior to the 2021-22 campaign. During his time with the program, the native of Australia has overseen a UH offense that has shattered numerous offensive records while helping propel UH to back-to-back 20-win seasons.

"In his time here, Brad has clearly established himself as a dynamic coach and mentor and has built strong relationships with our student-athletes, staff, administration, and community," Ganot said. "Brad is terrific on the floor, in player development and on the recruiting trail, particularly internationally.  We've been fortunate to have great people on staff who will go on to be great head coaches. Brad is no exception as he continues to go above and beyond to make teams better."

In his inaugural season with UH, Davidson made an immediate impact as the Rainbow Warriors enjoyed a prolific 2021-22 season in which they led the Big West in three-pointers per game (8.1) and set a new single-game three-point record with 18. Overall, the top three single-game three-point performances at UH have come under Davidson's direction.

In his second season, Davidson helped UH to a 22-win season and its first-ever Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic title. Last year the offensive success continued. UH exceeded 90 points three times, an amount not seen in a decade, while UH registered its highest ever KenPom single-game offensive efficiency rating. For the season, the 'Bows sported a balanced attack with six different Rainbow Warriors scoring 20 points or more in a game at least once during the year.

During his time at UH, Davidson has also been instrumental in the development of all-conference guards Noel Coleman, Junior Madut and JoVon McClanahan.

Prior to coming to UH, Davidson molded South Dakota into one of the top shooting teams in the country, finishing in the top 10 in the nation in three-point percentage. He also coached at North Dakota, helping the Fighting Hawks to its first-ever NCAA Tournament bid. Davidson began his coaching career in his native Australia, coaching a pair of professional squads, while also working with both the men's and women's national teams as a shooting coach and scout.

The Rainbow Warriors officially opened fall practice last Friday in preparation for the season-opening OUTRIGGER Rainbow Classic, Nov. 8, 10, and 11 at SimpliFi Arena.
