The short-handed 'Bows opened the 2024 season this past Sunday, falling to the visiting SMU Mustangs, 7-0. The loss was highlighted by the comeback of
Karl Collins who had sat out the entire fall due to injury. Collins fell in the first set, but fought his way back in the second, and at one point was serving to force a third set at 5-4, but 98th-ranked Jerry Barton of SMU then rallied to take the last three games to seal the sweep, 6-1, 7-5. The match against SMU was the Rainbow Warrior debuts for five--
Blue Cockle,
Angus Hill,
Quinn Snyder, and
Sohta Urano.
The Razorbacks are returning to Hawai'i for their fifth time--first since 2008. Arkansas is led by 177th-ranked Gerard Planelles who went 7-4 in the fall.
