HONOLULU – Hawai'i head football coach Timmy Chang announced the addition of Anthony Arceneaux Tuesday as the program's new running backs coach.
A native of Honolulu and graduate of Saint Louis School, Arceneaux returns home after spending the last two seasons as the wide receivers coach at Nevada.
"Anthony Arceneaux brings value and knowledge of the Run-and-Shoot to our program," said Chang. "He's born and raised in the islands and I'm excited for him to join the Braddahhood."
While at Nevada, Arceneaux's receivers combined to catch 278 passes for 3,270 yards and 11 touchdowns over his two seasons. Working with a room full of newcomers in his first year with the Wolf Pack in 2022, Arceneaux helped lead BJ Casteel to All-Mountain West honorable mention recognition after catching 48 passes for 581 yards and four TDs.
Prior to arriving at Nevada, Arceneaux spent the 2021 season as the wide receivers coach at UC Davis where he helped lead the Aggies to an 8-4 record and a spot in the FCS playoffs.
Arceneaux spent five seasons on the staff at Southern Utah before going to UC Davis, overseeing special teams, inside receivers and tight ends. During his time with the Thunderbirds, he guided Lance Lawson finish 13th in the FCS in receptions with 78 in 2019 while helping Judd Cockett earn All-Big Sky honors as a return specialist after averaging 19.8 yards per kick return that same year.
Before working at Southern Utah, Arceneaux worked with the wide receivers at Chaffey College (2015) and Western New Mexico (2014). He also participated in the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship each year from 2018-20, spending time with the Los Angeles Chargers and Minnesota Vikings.
A 1999 graduate of Saint Louis School, Arceneaux was a high school teammate of Chang before playing collegiately at Utah. He then went on to play professionally with stints in the Arena Football League and Canadian Football League.
