HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i diving teams head to Los Angeles this weekend to compete in the Bruin Diving Invitational at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center.
The meet begins Friday with the women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter competitions. The women's 3 meter and men's platform will be held on Saturday, and the weekend wraps up on Sunday with the women's platform and men's 1 meter.
Divers from Hawai'I, BYU, Cal Baptist, Fresno State, Minnesota, Northern Arizona, UNLV, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Jose State, USC, Stanford, Utah, Wisconsin and host UCLA are entered in the meet.
UH seniors
Juan Gonzalez and
Mackaby Pennington are slated to compete on all three boards. Pennington holds the season's top scores in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in 1 meter (341.35) and platform (330.45). Gonzalez leads the conference on 3 meter (360.40).

Elma Lund, junior
Isabella Plantz and freshman
Ruby Pickron are entered in the women's competition. Lombardi and Pickron are entered in all three events. Lund is entered in 1 meter and platform and Plantz in 1 meter and 3 meter.
Plantz has the MPSF's top 3 meter score at 287.95 and Lund leads the conference on platform at 241.50. Lombardi is second on 1 meter at 286.87.
The Bruin Diving Invitational is UH's last meet prior to the MPSF Diving Championships set for Feb. 12-14 in Mission Viejo, Calif.
