HONOLULU – The Hawai'i women's track & field team opens the 2024 indoor season with two days of action in Spokane, Wash., Friday and Saturday.
The weekend's action will be split up into two individual meets, starting with the Spokane Sports Showcase on Friday and ending with the Spokane Indoor Challenge Friday evening and all day Saturday.
"We're excited to return to Spokane to kick off our indoor schedule as this has been a record-setting venue for us in the past," said track & field head coach
Madeleine Carleton. "We have assembled one of our most competitive squads ever and we look forward to seeing what these women achieve over the next several months."

The Rainbow Wahine return a host of athletes who were key contributors during last year's indoor season, highlighted by nine who scored points for UH at last year's MPSF Indoor Championships, including two who won individual gold. The 'Bows also have 12 athletes on this year's roster who currently own a program top 10 mark.
Alyssa Mae Antolin returns for her senior season and owns program records in both the 60m and 200m, setting both marks at last year's MPSF Indoor Championships. The Kīhei, Maui native won gold in the 200m at the MPSF meet with a time of 23.90 and was also a part of the program record-setting 4x400m relay team at the conference meet.
A trio of other sprinters with program top-10 times return to round out a strong sprint squad. Senior
Amy Warrington sits in the UH top 10 in the 60m, 200m and 400m while also contributing to the program record-setting 4x400m relay team at last year's MPSF Championships. Sophomore
Kristin Cook holds the No. 4 time in school history in the 60m and the No. 10 time in the 200m while
Gianna Scruggs has the ninth-fastest 60m time at UH.
Sammie Gordon leads the Rainbow Wahine multis crew after taking bronze at the MPSF Championships in 2023 with 3,586 points in the pentathlon, the fifth-most in program history.
Anna Marx also returns after finishing sixth with 3,352 points in the pentathlon at MPSFs, good for the seventh-best mark in school history.

Tara Wyllie currently sits seventh in the triple jump while also owning the eighth-fastest 60m hurdles time.
Helen Hoadley is No. 4 in UH history in the pole vault while
Hallee Mohr is eighth in the shot put and
Montserrat Montanes i Arbo is fourth in the weight throw. Last year's MPSF high jump champion
Lilian Turban owns the second-best mark in program history.
Following this weekend's meet, Hawai'i will return to action Jan. 26-27 at the UW Invite in Seattle.
