IRVINE, Calif. – A pair of University of Hawai'i women's golfers were selected to the Big West All-Conference team as voted by the league's head coaches.
Hyeonji Kang was named to the first team while
Mayumi Umezu was picked to the second team.
Kang, a sophomore from Jeju, South. Korea, led the Rainbow Wahine with a 73.8 scoring average. She competed in all nine tournaments with three Top 10 finishes including runner-up at the Cowgirl Classic. Last season, Kang earned second-team all-conference honors.
Umezu, a sophomore from Waimea, Hawai'i, finished second on the team with a 74.3 average. Last week, she was named to the Big West all-tournament team after tying for fourth at the championship. Umezu posted the season's best single round (67) and 54-hole total (212) at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
UH wrapped up the season last week at the Big West Championship, where they finished in seventh place.
