HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i coed sailing team hosts the 2023 PCCSC Fleet Race Championships, April 21-22, in their home waters of Ke'ehi Lagoon. The regatta will feature 14 schools competing over the course of two days with UH hosting the event for the first time since 2018.
The top two finishers in the regatta will qualify for the nationals. This year's nationals will be hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in King's Point, N.Y., in late May. UH looks to make its second straight appearance in the fleet nationals and 19th overall. The Rainbow Wahine sailors have already punched their ticket to New York and the women's national semifinals after finishing second in the PCCSC Women's Championship held last weekend Santa Barbara, Calif.
This weekend will also mark the final home regatta for senior sailors Owen Lahr, Kelsie Grant, Chloe Long, Katherine Shofran, Taylor Ledgerwood, and Frances Tarpey-Schwed.
