HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (8-5, 2-0 Big West) continued Big West play with a 4-1 victory over UC San Diego on Friday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.
Andre Ilagan and Lucas Labrunie as well as Karl Collins and Vojta Vlkovsky dominated doubles, both winning 6-1, securing the doubles win for UH.
In singles, No.68 Ilagan got his ninth win in a row match at the top of the order, defeating UC San Diego's Daniel Traxler, 6-2, 6-3. No. 4, UH's Guillaume Tattevin defeated Charles Qian, 6-3, 7-5 while No. 6, Kilian Maitre won against Jett Cole, 7-5, 6-2. Axel and Lucas Labrunie went unfinished.
The Rainbow Warriors will conclude their final homestand with one more conference match on Saturday against UC Irvine. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. HT at the UH Tennis Complex.
