HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team extended its win streak to six-straight with a 5-2 win over Cal Poly in its penultimate home match of the season on Thursday afternoon. The Rainbow Wahine clinched the match at 4-0, but played out all the matches to finish the match score at 5-2 at the UH Tennis Complex. With the win, UH improves to 9-6 overall and remains atop the Big West standings with a 6-1 conference record.

The Rainbow Wahine won the doubles point to start the match with wins on the No. 1 and 2 courts. The top UH duo of Klara Novakova and Rita Pinto knocked off sisters Delaney and Peyton Dunkle, 5-2. On the No. 2 court, UH's Nikola Homolkova and Ana Vilcek earned the point with a 6-2 win over Kim Bhunu and Kennedy Buntrock.

In singles, the 'Bows quickly clinched the match reeling off straight-set wins at No. 3, 2, and 6. Hawai'i's No. 3 Takamura notched her fifth-straight win with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Delaney Dunkle, 6-0, 6-3. UH's No. 2 Homolkova kept things rolling with her fifth-straight victory, knocking off LaMette, 6-4, 6-1, while Kon the No. 6 court Kim clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Kennedy Buntrock. Novakova capped the win with a third set super-tie-breaker win over Peyton Dunkle, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(7). 

The Rainbow Wahine will host their final home match of the season and celebrate Senior Night this Saturday, April 1. Hawai'i will host UC San Diego at 10:00 a.m. HT at the UH Tennis Complex. After the match, UH will honor its seniors--Madison Kim, Alexis Merrill, Rita Pinto and Satsuki Takamura
