HONOLULU – The top-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team concludes its four-match road swing with a Big West series at UC Santa Barbara, Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 at The Thunderdome in Santa Barbara, Calif. The Rainbow Warriors (20-2, 3-1 BWC), who regained the No. 1 ranking in this week's AVCA poll, have won 13 straight over the Gauchos (5-13, 1-4), including five consecutive in Santa Barbara.

FIRST SERVE
- Hawai'i (20-2, 3-1 BWC) pulled off a pair of straight-set wins over CSUN last week in Northridge, Calif., while UC Santa Barbara (5-13, 1-4) was idle. The Gauchos last took the court two weeks ago, dropping a pair of matches against UC Irvine.
- UH has won its last three Big West matches while the Gauchos have lost their last four.
- UH regained the No. 1 ranking in this week's NVA/AVCA Top 15 poll after slipping to No. 2 last week. Hawai'i started the year at the nation's No. 1-ranked team for first 11 weeks of the season.
- UH also moved up three spots to No. 2 in this week's RPI. UCSB is unranked in the AVCA poll and No. 26 in the RPI.
- UH is 7-0 in road matches this season and owns a nine-match road win streak dating back to last season. All seven wins this season have been sweeps.
- UH leads the all-time series 57-37 and have won the last 13 meetings, including five straight in Santa Barbara.
- Since the teams moved to the Big West in 2018, UH has won all eight meetings in addition to twice in postseason play (2021 NCAA semis and 2022 Big West semis).
- UCSB setter Jack Walmer spent two national championship seasons at UH. The Manhattan Beach, Calif., redshirted in 2021 and was as a backup in 2022 appearing in 27 matches with two starts. He served NCAA Championship match point against Long Beach State.
- UH has a 15-7 all-time record in Big West road matches.
- Setter Jakob Thelle needs seven aces to become the program's all-time leader. Currently he is fourth with 115. The leaders are Costas Theocharidis and Pedro Azenha.
- Thelle also needs 19 assists to move into the Top 10 career list.
- Over the last four matches, OH Chaz Galloway is averaging 3.33 kills per set, hitting .434. He has reached double figures in kills three times.
- UH is 19-1 when winning the first set this season and 68-3 over the last 3+ seasons.
