HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (7-5, 1-0 Big West) opened their Big West season with a sweep over UC Riverside, 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. The match started with singles due to the threat of rain.

Hawai'i's 68th-ranked Andre Ilagan led off by winning his eighth-straight match at the top of the order, defeating UC Riverside's Daniel Velek in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. On the No. 6 court, UH's Kilian Maitre knocked off UCR's Ryan Huynh, 7-5, 6-1 while UH's No. 3 Axel Labrunie cruised past Antreas Djakouris, 6-4, 6-2. Hawai'i's No. 5 Lucas Labrunie clinched the match defeating the Highlanders' Aarav Sane in three, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.

The Rainbow Warriors will continue its final homestand with two more conference matches this week. On Friday, March 31 the 'Bows will take on UC San Diego and on Saturday, April 1 will battle UC Irvine. First serve for both matches is slated for 1:00 p.m. HT at the UH Tennis Complex.
