LA JOLLA,Calif.--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (6-4) saw its six-match win streak snapped on Monday. Nevada narrowly edged out Hawai'i 4-3 at UC San Diego's Northview Tennis Courts. 

The Rainbow Warriors captured the doubles point to take the early 1-0 lead. UH's No. 1 duo of Andre Ilagan and Lucas Labrunie knocked off Nevada's Mathewo Coupu and Satchel Benn by a break, 6-4. On the No. 2 court, Hawai'i's Kilian Maitre and Axel Labrunie combined to hold off Juan Batalla and Sasha Nicolau, 7-5 to secure the point.

The singles competition was a hard fought battle between the two squads. The Wolf Pack started by picking up straight set wins on courts 2, 3, and 5 to take a 3-1 lead. 56th-ranked Ilagan dispatched Pedro Liborio, 7-6 (5), 6-1. UNR's Satchel Benn clinched the match with a 7-5, 7-5 victory over UH's Vojta Vlkovsky. After the match was decided, UH's Maitre, UH's No. 6, bounced back after dropping the first set to win in three, 5-7, 7-5, 7-5.

The Rainbow Warriors were originally was supposed to have played at UC Davis on Monday, but after the Golden State Invitational which is joint-hosted by Sacramento State and UC Davis was canceled due to inclement weather UH traveled to San Diego instead to take on UTRGV (Texas Rio Grande Valley) and Nevada. UH's orginally scheduled match at UC Davis has been postponed and will be made up at a later date.
