Men's Volleyball Continues Road Swing At Stanford

HONOLULU – The top-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team returns to the court with a two-match series against former Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rival Stanford, Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 at Stanford, Calif. Friday's match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT (5:00 p.m. HT) at Maples Pavilion while Saturday's contest begins at 6:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. HT) at Burnham Pavilion. The Rainbow Warriors (7-0) are one of five unbeaten teams remaining in Division I-II and will take their 16-match win streak to The Farm. The eighth-ranked Cardinal (7-2) will look to snap UH's seven-match win streak in the series.

FIRST SERVE
  • Hawai'i (7-0) is coming off a bye week while Stanford (7-2) split a pair of road matches last week, falling to CSUN in five sets and winning in straight sets at The Master's.
  • The teams will meet in a two-match, non-conference series for the second time since 2020. The teams met twice in Stanford, Calif., during the 2020 season with the top-ranked Rainbow Warriors winning both matches in straight sets.
  • UH has won the last seven matches in the series including a four-set win last season at the First Point Challenge in Austin, Texas.
  • UH leads the all-time with its former Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rivals, 46-38.
  • Stanford has won 10 of the last 13 meetings played in Stanford, Calif., dating back to 2008.
  • Stanford is 4-0 at home this season while UH is 3-0 on the road.
  • Stanford's John Kosty is in his 17th season with 238 career victories while UH's Charlie Wade is in his 14th season with 247 wins.
  • The teams have played one common opponent, Saint Francis, both hosting the Red Flash for a two-match series. UH won both matches in straight sets while the Cardinal won the first match in four sets and the rematch in five sets.
  • Since the Big West created a men's volleyball league in 2018, UH has a 19-4 record against MPSF teams. Hawai'i also has upcoming series with MPSF teams Concordia-Irvine (Feb. 16-17) and Pepperdine (March 1 & 3) while UCLA is part of the 27th OUTRIGGER Invitational.
  • UH's current 16-match win streak dating back to last season is the longest in the country.
  • UH has won five straight matches in straight sets and has a current 18-set win streak.
