HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team fell to Arizona, 5-2 on Friday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex.
The Rainbow Wahine won the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead. UH dropped the first match on the No. 2 court but bounced back to win at No. 3 and No. 1. On the No. 3 court,
Anna Kern and
Madison Kim defeated Kayla Wilkins and Reece Carter, 6-3. UH's No. 1
Rita Pinto and
Klara Novakova followed with a 6-3 win over Midori Castillo-Meza and Tanvi Narendran.
In singles, the Wildcats won the first five matches with Fry clinching the match on the No. 6 court. UH's lone singles winner was
Ana Vilcek at No. 1 in a three set thriller over Salma Ziouti, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.
The two teams will square off on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
