Against the Trailblazers, Haley Johnson came through with a clutch, two-run triple in the sixth to propel the Rainbow Wahine to the 2-1 win. In the game against the Gaels, home runs by Rachel "Bueller" Sabourin, Mya'Liah Bethea, and Izabella Martinez propelled UH to the win to cap a blustery Friday night and conclude the first day of the Paradise Classic tournament.

Utah Tech broke up a scoreless game in the top of the third. With two outs, the Trailblazers loaded the bases. A fielding error by the shortstop allowed the game's first run to score as S. Clements reached on the error as Windle scored from third.

The Rainbow Wahine were shut out until the sixth. Maya Nakamura led off with a single to short. Dallas Millwood followed with a double off the centerfield fence to put runners at second and third. After a ground out to the second, designated player Haley Johnson then ripped a triple down the rightfield line to drive in both Nakamura and pinch-runner Cierra Yamamoto.

Sabourin then stepped to the plate as a pinch hitter and launched a three-run bomb to centerfield. It marked the senior's first career home run. Bethea followed Sabourin by blasting her first homer of the season to centerfield. It was the junior's third home run of her career. After four innings, UH led 4-1.

Hawai'i's Martinez led off the fifth inning with a line drive home run that just flew out of the park just over the centerfield fence. It was the sophomore catcher's first career home run.
