HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's soccer program announced the signing of five players to the incoming class for the 2024 season.
The Rainbow Wahine received a National Letter of Intent from defenders Laule'a Ah Mook Sang of Punahou School and Piper Bertani of San Jose, Calif.; midfielders Nalani Damacion of Rocklin, Calif., and Rori Gartner of Fallbrook, Calif. and forward Alice Davidson of Scappoose, Ore.
"I am so excited to welcome this talented class to our 'ohana," Rainbow Wahine head coach Michele Nagamine said. "All of these young women possess high character and an unconditional love for Hawai'i. They all come from competitive club teams and excel both on the field and in the classroom. I refer to this class as an elevator class — they will help take us to the next level and each one of them will impact our team immediately."

Coach Nagamine on Laule'a Ah Mook Sang: "Anytime we can keep a local girl who is as talented and passionate as Laule'a is, that's a huge win for our program. She is athletic, fast and a tenacious defender. She never gives up on a play and possesses a solid understanding of what we are looking for in our outside backs."

Coach Nagamine on Piper Bertani: "The first thing that drew our attention to Piper was her personality on the field. She is vocal, confident and an absolute beast of a defender. Piper has great size and athleticism and will compliment our back line with her workrate, organizational skills and ability to win air balls."
Nalani Damacion

Coach Nagamine on Nalani Damacion: "Nalani is the perfect 10! As an attacking center mid, she is creative, great on the ball and has the ability to both assist and score goals. Her height and strength will also provide us with a dominating presence in the spine of our team and will give us another target on set pieces."

Coach Nagamine on Alice Davidson: "Alice is one of those players who makes any team she's on better. She is capable of playing a few different positions and has an engine that won't quit. Her speed as an outside back/winger allows her to get up and down the field, which is perfect for our team's style of play."
Rori Gartner
Midfielder
Fallbrook High School
Fallbrook, Calif.

She shut down their midfield with her physicality and ability to cover ground. She will add depth to our midfield and we couldn't be more excited about her choosing Hawai'i."
