HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team concluded the first weekend of the UH Ānuenue Invitational on Sunday. On the third day of the five-day tournament, the Rainbow Wahine was strong both in singles and doubles at the UH Tennis Complex.

Hawai'i won all four of their doubles matches. UH's Nelly Knezkova and Nikola Homolkova blanked Hawai'i Hilo's Satoho Toriumi and Hikari Osaki, 6-0 while Ana Vilcek and Sheena Masuda nearly fired a shutout, defeating Hawai'i Pacific's Abi Wild and Sara Hejtmankova, 6-1. UH's Anna Kern and Joelle Lanz held off UHH's Akari Ichikawa and Nanami Okamoto by a break, 6-4. UH's local girl combo of Kaitlyn Ralar and Macy Rose outlasted the Vulcans' Cami Oyama and Hana Hofmanova, 7-5.

The Rainbow Wahine went 8-0 in singles with seven sweeps and one match decided in three sets. Knezkova swept McKenna Mountain of UHH, 6-1, 6-0 while Homolkova was also dominant against HPU's Hejtmankov, 6-0, 6-1. UH's Masuda held off UHH's Osaki by a break in the first set, then pulled away in the second to win, 6-4, 6-1. Hawai'i's Kern cruised past Okamoto of Hawai'i Hilo, 6-2, 6-1 while Lanz rolled over Hilo's Toriumi, 6-1, 6-1. Hawai'i's Vilcek doubled up in the first then blanked HPU's Wild in the second to win, 6-3, 6-0. UH's Macy Rose edged out UHH's Oyama in the tightest battle of the day. The two split the first set in tie-breakers with Rose coming out on top in the super tiebreaker to decide the match, 6-7, 7-6, 1-0 (10-4).

The Rainbow Wahine will continue the UH Ānuenue Invitational this coming Thursday, Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m. HT and Friday, Oct. 13 at 3:30 p.m. HT. All matches will be held at the UH Tennis Complex.
