Rainbow Wahine Finish Runner-up at the PCCSC Women’s Fall Championships

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sailing team finished second at the PCCSC Women's Fall Championships held this past weekend in Northern California. Host Stanford dominated the regatta, finishing with 35 points as closest competitor UH finished with double that point total (70).

The eight teams in the regatta played the waiting game as weather conditions grounded them for much of the weekend. The weather allowed for only a less thant three-hour window of raicing on Saturday. A total of eight races in each division were completed in winds of 5 knots. Vivian Bonsager and Martha Schuessler skippered the A and Bi division teams respectively, with Sophia Shaeffer, Holly Coughlan, Morgan Carew and Amanda Turner serving as crew.

The regatta was the last of the fall for the Rainbow Wahine who will return to the waters with the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invite, Jan. 20-21.
