Napoleon and Santer Earn Bid To AVCA Nationals

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – The University of Hawaii pair of Pani Napoleon and Jaime Santer placed in a tie for ninth at the AVCA Collegiate Beach West Coast Qualifier this past weekend in Southern California. With that finish, the duo punched a ticket to next month's AVCA Collegiate Beach Pairs National Championship.

The duo won four of eight matches in the Gold Bracket in a successful reunion for the pair. Napoleon (Gr., Bonita, Calf.), a three-year letterwinner at UH, returned to Manoa this past fall to team up once again with Santer (Toronto, Canada) who enters her senior season. The tandem earned all-Big West honors together in 2021, before Napoleon spent the next two seasons at UCLA.

In all, UH had seven pairs entered in three divisions (gold, silver, bronze) during the three-day qualifier The BeachBows went a combined 18-36 during the weekend.

The 2023 AVCA Collegiate Beach Pairs National Championship will be held Nov. 3-5 in Huntsville, Ala. Santer will be making her second straight appearance in the nationals after competing with Kylin Loker in last year's inaugural event.
