HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team hosted its first Fall matches of the season, taking on Hawai'i Pacific in the UH-HPU Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13 at the UH Tennis Complex.
The Rainbow Warriors won both doubles matches to start the day. UH's
Quinn Snyder and
Andy Hernandez defeated HPU's Jakub Beran and Jim Walder, 6-2, while
Andrew Somerville and
Guillaume Tattevin combined to knockk off the Sharks' Adam Vasir and MIle Matic, 6-3.
UH and HPU split their four singles matches that were played. Hawai'i's Snyder swept HPU's Lennard Richter, 6-4, 6-3. After dropping the first set, Hernandez battled back to defeat Bruno Johannes, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. UH's Tattevin fell in three to the Sharks'Â Riku Ogasawara, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 and Somerville fell to HPU's Vasir, 6-2, 6-4.
The UH-HPU Invitational will conclude Part 1 on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. HT.
