School Record Falls For Track & Field at OSU High Performance Meet

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team continued to perform with more all-time marks as the competition got underway at Oregon State for the OSU High-Performance Meet.
 
Top finishes, personal bests, and a new school record highlighted day one for the Rainbow Wahine. Junior distance runner Sophia Morgan held the number two all-time mark in the 3000m steeplechase this weekend. With her time of 11:00.39, she has surpassed Montana Martinez and her time of 11:03.50 to claim the best time in UH history.
 
Sophomore throws Montserrat Montanes I Arbo dominated the competition in the hammer throw today as she dented the ground at 188'09", marking a new personal record, fourth in school history, and securing first place.
 
Following in the winning ways was junior sprinter Alyssa Mae Antolin who left the other athletes in her wake as she claimed first place in the 200m dash with a time of 24.27.
 
More top finishes came from pole vaulters, sophomore Natasha Tehrani, and freshman Helen Hoadley who tied for second place, each cleared the bar at 12'0.5."
 
The Rainbow Wahine wraps up their final day of competition tomorrow, beginning at 8:00 am HT.
