Mor Seck Signed

Men's Basketball

Rainbow Warriors Reel In Gifted Post Player

HONOLULU -- University of Hawai'i men's basketball coach Eran Ganot announced the signing of Mor Seck. Seck will arrive in Manoa this summer with four years of eligibility.

Seck is a 7-0, 230-pound center who played his senior season at Prolific Prep, one of the nation's premier basketball programs based out of Napa, Calif. He averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks for a squad that advanced to the semifinals of the 2022 Geico Nationals. The team also captured the prestigious Chick-fil-A Classic with Seck scoring 16 points in the championship game. Prolific sported a 14-1 regular-season record and first-place league finish.

While at Prolific, Seck played alongside four Top-35 players in ESPN's class of 2022. He previously received interest from the likes of Oklahoma State, San Francisco and 2022 national champions Kansas. Seck ultimately chose Hawai'i over Loyola Marymount, New Mexico State and UC Santa Barbara.

"Mor has great size and length and is very mobile for a big man of his stature," Ganot said. "He is skilled offensively, is a great free throw shooter and will be an imposing rim protector on the back line of our defense. We love his work ethic and his unlimited potential. Mor fits extremely well within the culture of our program as well as that of Hawai'i. He's an exciting addition for our great fans and we all look forward to watching him grow and develop into a special player. We're extremely excited to have Mor join our 'ohana."

Seck is originally from Sokone, Senegal and moved to the United States as a high school freshman. He first attended DME Academy in Florida, before becoming a standout player for Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco where he led the Crusaders to the CCS championship game as a junior. Rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports, he played club basketball for the Oakland Soldiers.

Seck is the second prep player to sign with the Rainbow Warriors this spring, joining Australian forward Harry Rouhliadeff (6-9, 220 lb.) in bolstering the UH frontcourt.
