Rainbow Wahine Sailors Finish Runner-Up in PCCSCs

HONOLULU – Competing in their home waters, the University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine sailing team finished second in the PCCSC Women's Championship held this weekend at Keehi Lagoon. With a top-two finish, UH earned a berth in the 2022 ICSA Women's Nationals to be held in New Orleans later this month.
 
Stanford claimed the regatta title with a low of 35 points and led from wire-to-wire in a field of 10 schools. The Rainbow Wahine were next with 57. A total of 20 races – 10 in each the A and B divisions – were completed over the weekend.
 
Mercy Tangredi skippered the A division with crew Kelsie Grant for 33 points while skipper Vivian Bonsager and Sophia Schaeffer competed in the B division finishing second with 24 points. Folliwng the regatta, Bonsager, Tangredi and Hayden Lahr were named 2021-22 PCCSC all-conferecen skippers.
