Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif.--The 68th-ranked University of Hawai'i men's tennis team improved to 10-2 overall and 4-1 in the Big West with a 4-0 sweep over UC Riverside on Monday afternoon at the SRC Tennis Courts. The Rainbow Warriors have now won 10 of their last 11 matches--including the last three straight. 

Hawai'i captured the doubles point, 2-1 notching wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. UH's No. 1 duo of Andre Ilagan and Karl Collins made quick work, shutting out UCR's Nolan McCaig and Daniel Velek, 6-0. The Highlanders' No. 3 pairing of Aarav Sane and Ryan Huynh evened the score with a 6-3 win over Simao Telo Alves and Kilian Maitre, 6-3. On the No. 2 court, Hawai'i's Axel Labrunie and Blaz Seric secured the point with a 6-3 

In singles, UH's Maitre knocked off UC Riverside's Sane in straight sets at No. 6, 6-1, 6-3 to start. Soon after, Uh's No. 4 Guillaume Tattevin defeated Roth, 6-3,6-3. Labrunie then clinched the match, tossing a shutout in the first set then holding off UCR's Velek by a break in the second, 6-0, 6-4.

This was Hawai'i's second win over the Highlanders. UH defeated UCR on January 28, 2022 in Las Vegas in a non-conference match to start their regular season, 4-1.

The Rainbow Warriors will now head due west to play a doubleheader against #48 UCLA on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The first match will be at 7:30 a.m. HT with the first serve for the second match scheduled for 12:00 p.m. HT.
