Hawai‘i Concludes its Season at the NCAA Zone E Championships

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZ.—The University of Hawai'i swim and dive team put an end to its 2021-22 season with the final day of the NCAA Zone E Championships at Northern Arizona University on Wednesday.

Wednesday saw three Rainbow Warriors in action with the one-meter dive and one Rainbow Wahine competing in the platform event. Senior Max Burman and sophomore Mason Williams made their way into the finals, as Williams recorded the only top-10 finish between the two.

Williams' score of 632.95 placed him at ninth overall, with his best dive coming in his sixth and final attempt. On an inward 2 ½ somersault tuck, Williams registered a 65.10 for second overall in the sixth dive. He also placed top-five in two other dives but 11th or lower in his other three.

In his last event representing UH, Burman finished at 14th overall in the event.

Lund settled in at the 13th position of the platform event, as her first dive of the day scored a 48.60 with a forward 3 ½ somersault tuck for her highest finish of the day at eighth overall.

As a result, 2022 will mark the end of a decade-long run of UH, having at least one swimmer or diver qualify for the NCAA Championships.
