TUCSON, Ariz.  – The  ninth-ranked University of Hawai'i beach volleyball team started its first road trip of the season strong with a pair of dominating wins Friday at the Cactus Classic hosted by the University of Arizona. The Rainbow Wahine blanked Boise State and Colorado Mesa by identical 5-0 scores.
 
UH improved to 4-3 on the season with the wins and continued its win streak against unranked squads to 101 consecutive matches. The BeachBows won by straight sets in nine of the 10 pairs competitions.
 
In their opening match of the day, UH blanked Boise State and improved to a perfect 6-0 all-time against the Broncos. Kylin Loker and Riley Wagoner were particularly impressive with a 21-12, 21-13 shellacking of Rorianna Chartier and Sierra Land at the No. 3 court. BSU did extended UH to three sets at the No. 3 flight, but Jaime Santer and Megan Widener out-lasted Danielle Boss and Madison Nichols, 14-21, 21-18, 15-10.
 
The 'Bows breezed during its next match against Colorado Mesa. In the first-ever meeting between the programs, the Rainbow Wahine made quick work of the Mavericks with straight set wins on all five courts.
 
The Rainbow Wahine should find a much stiffer test on day two of the Cactus Classic when they face Arizona State (7:00 a.m. HT) and host and No. 13 Arizona (11:00 a.m. HT).
