CARLSBAD, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team placed 10
th at the UC San Diego Invitational after a final round 296 at the La Costa Champions Course.
The Rainbow Warriors finished with an 886 total. Sacramento State won the team title by one stroke over host UCSD with an 854 total.
Individually, freshman
Pierce Braun carded a final round 2-under 70 to finish in a tie for 20
th place at 3-over 219. The Phoenix, Ariz., native rebounded from an opening round 80 to finish his final 36 holes in 5-under par for his second Top 20 finish of the season.
San Diego State's Justin Hastings took medalist honors at 9-under 207.
UH freshman
Atsuya Oishi continued his solid play as of late with a 4-over 220 total and a tie for 28
th place. Freshman
Tyler Ogawa shot a final round 75 to finish in a tie for 40
th at 6-over 222.
Also competing for UH were
Garrett Takeuchi (233; t-74
th) and
Ratio Visuttipinate (234; t-76
th).
The Rainbow Warriors will next compete in the Western Intercollegiate, April 11-13 at the Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, Calif.
