LOS ANGELES – A week after a strong showing at the LA Harbor Cup , the University of Hawai'i coed sailing team put on another impressive display by placing first at the PCCSC South Regatta, held March 19-20, off the coast of Southern California.
The Rainbows scored a regatta low 42 points, a full 15 ahead of runner-up Stanford while coming out on top in a field of 24 teams. A total of 20 races were completed over the weekend.
The B division team powered by skipper

Trey Summers and
Kelsie Grant were outstanding all weekend, winning seven of 10 races while finished in the top three in the three other races. They blew away the competition in their division with 15 points as second-place UCLA was next with 31. The A division, steered by skipper
Bastien Rasse and crew
Devon Stapleton finished second in their division, but not by much as they totaled 27 points, just four points behind Stanford.
Up next for the Rainbow Sailors is the PCCSC North Regatta, held April 2-3, in Vallejo, Calif.
