No. 15 Seed Hawai‘i Set Take on No. 2 Seed Baylor in NCAA Tournament

HONOLULU, O'AHU— Coming off the program's third-ever Big West Conference tournament championship, the University of Hawai'i women's basketball team will make its seventh appearance in the NCAA Tournament Friday, March 18th against Baylor University.

After receiving the automatic bid into the national championship tournament as the No. 15 seed of the Wichita Bracket, the Rainbow Wahine will travel to Waco, Texas, to take on the No. 4 ranked Bears as they will serve as the No. 2 seed of the bracket.

The last bid into the tournament for UH was in 2016 as a No. 14 seed. Over the program's previous six appearances, the 'Bows have been between the No. 8 and No. 14 seeds, with 2022 being their lowest seeding ever in the tournament. UH is 1-6 all-time in the tournament, with their only win coming in 1990.

Baylor enters as a potential favorite to win the national championship. Since the 2003-2004 season, the Bears have made the tournament 18 consecutive years. In those 18 seasons, Baylor has won three national titles, made four final four appearances, 10 trips to the Elite 8, and played in 15 Sweet 16s.

Tip-off has not been set yet and will be announced in the coming days.
