DAVIS, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's water polo team won their conference opener 13-5 at UC Davis on Friday night.
The Rainbow Wahine (9-4, 1-0) continue their dominance over Davis (11-9, 0-1) by extending their series lead to 27-6, including 20 consecutive wins.
In a wire-to-wire win, sophomore utility
Lara Luka got the ball rolling as she netted the first goal of the match. The first half had six different UH players find the back of the cage to take a 7-2 lead at half.
The 'Bows duo of Luka and senior attacker
Elyse Lemay-Lavoie went to work scoring all six goals in the second half, which included three each. The defense showed their strength holding the Aggies to a .250 shooting percentage and not allowing any goals on five power plays to close out a 13-5 victory.

Molly DiLalla moved to 4-1 as she got her first complete game start of the season. She ended her night with nine saves on 20 shots, and an overall .643 save percentage.

Lucia Gomez de la Puente played a secondary role in tonight's offense as she added three assists and a goal. Rounding out the night's top performers was Lemay-Lavoie, with a trio of goals all coming in the second half.
The Rainbow Wahine are back in action Saturday with a non-conference matchup against Pacific, with the first sprint scheduled at 10:00 am HT.
