Dimitrios Mouchlias and
Guilherme Voss were recognized by the Big West as the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. The duo helped the Rainbow Warriors to a 3-0 record at the First Point Collegiate Challenge in Austin, Texas.
Mouchlias averaged 4.63 kills per set on .469 hitting during the tournament, which included a match-high 18 kills and five blocks in a four-set victory over Stanford. The Soufli, Greece native began the week with a career-high 21 kills with no errors in 39 attempts in a five-set loss at Ball State.
In between, he had two more errorless matches against Fairleigh Dickinson (8-0-12) and Queens (11-0-14). For the week, had totaled 58 kills (4.46 k/s) on .495 hitting, 16 blocks and 15 digs. The award is the first of his career.
Voss earned his second career defensive player of the week award after posting 14 total blocks (1.40 b/s) in UH's three wins at the First Point Challenge. The Rio de Janeiro native posted a season-best six blocks against Queens.
In addition, Voss averaged 1.10 kills per set on .400 hitting. He missed the Ball State series to open the week due to health and safety protocols.
