Four From Hawai‘i Compete in Bulldog Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga.—Four student-athletes from the University of Hawai'i swim team took their hopes of an NCAA Championship berth on the road for the Bulldog Invitational for a last chance meet over the weekend.

On the first of two days, all four swimmers were in action, including graduate Anna Kotonen and freshman Kathryn Ivanov for the women's team, junior Justin Lisoway, and freshman Tomer Goldfaden for the men's team.

Kotonen competed in the 50 free, placing fourth overall with a time of 22.79. Over in the 100 breast Ivanov finished third overall by touching the wall at 1:01.53 and finished just shy of her career-best. Neither of Kotonen's or Ivanov's times cemented them in the NCAA Championships. Each will have a shot again on Sunday as Kotonen will compete in the 100 free and Ivanov will go in the 200 breast.

Lisoway and Goldfaden each competed in the 100 breast placing 11th and 12th overall, third and fourth in the B Final. Lisoway's time topped at 53.84, while Goldfaden finished at 53.93.

The meet continues on Sunday as each swimmer will have one more chance at qualifying for the NCAA Championships.
