Women's Tennis Hosts Stanford In Fall Season Finale

HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team will wrap up its Fall season hosting the Hawai'i/Stanford Invitational this Friday, Nov. 18 at 3:30 p.m. HT at the UH Tennis Complex.

In the past 24 years, Stanford has come to Hawai'i to play the Rainbow Wahine almost every fall--including a stretch of 15-straight years from 1999-2013. In recent history, the 'Bows and Cardinal have faced off at an outer-island venue, but this year, the matches will be played at UH's home courts. Stanford finished the 2022 season in the NCAA Super Regionals and was ranked No. 13 in the ITA's final rankings of 2022.

This past week, in the rain-shortened Rainbow Wahine Fall Invitational, the Rainbow Wahine did well in doubles, winning six of eight matches with one of the losses coming in a tiebreaker. UH partners Nikola Homolkova/Klara Novokova and Rita Pinto/Alexis Merrill won both their matches to lead the 'Bows. In singles, the 'Bows had eight different players not a victory over the weekend against players from the Air Force Academy and Hawai'i Pacific. Going undefeated in the Invitational were Homolkova, Madison Kim, Satsuki Takamura and Ana Vilcek.
