Rainbow Wahine Excel At Jeff Simon Regatta

MISSION BAY, CALIF. - The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine Sailing team competed at the Jeff Simon Women's Regatta, Jan. 29-30, with top finishes over the course of two days. Two successive events were held on back-to-back days as UH finished  first on Saturday and third on Sunday. 

On Saturday, eight races were sailed with four in each division. The 'Bows managed to win A division with Mercy Tangredi and Kelsie Grant collecting a low of seven points. In the B division, Morgan Carew and Sophia Schaffer  finished third tallying up 13 points to best UC Santa Barbara by six points and finish first.

The second day saw the same amount of races as Saturday, with the 'Bows managing to get a third place finish after the conclusion of racing. Tangredi and Grant finished second in A division with 11 points, while Carew and Long finished fifth in B division with 19 points. 

The Rainbow Wahine travel to Redwood City on February 19th where they will try to continue their hot streak from the previous semester.
