DAVIS, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team (5-5, 2-0 BWC ) evened its record at 5-5 with a sweep over UC Davis to close out its first conference roadtrip of the season, 25-18, 25-13, 25-19.

Janelle Gong notched career highs to propel the 'Bows to the win at the University Credit Union Center in Davis, Calif.
Van Sickle led UH for the eighth time this season in kills, notching a game-high 14 to go with her match-high 11 digs. She took 23 swings and committed no errors for a career-high .609 hitting percentage. Van Sickle also added four blocks and a service ace that clinched Set 1.
Lang dished out a career-high 38 assists and tied her career high with eight digs. Lang led a balanced offensive attack with all starting five hitters tallying at least six kills each. As a team, the 'Bows combined for a season-best .396 hitting percentage.
For the sixth time this season and the fourth-straight match middle blocker
Amber Igiede posted double-digits in kills with 11. She also recorded a match-high five blocks.
Gong came off the bench and matched Van Sickle in digs, coming up with a career-high 11.
In the first set, the Rainbow Wahine inched ahead early, but with
Riley Wagoner serving, the 'Bows went on a 5-to-0 run which gave UH a nine-point lead, 21--12. Later, with Hawai'i leading 23-14, the Aggies rallied to score four straight to close to within five at 23-18. But
Braelyn Akana would get a kill to snap their run ang give UH match point. Van Sickle then dealt a service ace to capture the first set, 25-18.
The second set was tight early on, but with Igiede serving, UH went on an 8-to-0 run, giving UH a 13-4 lead. UH would lead by as many as 12 at three different points in the set. Hawai'i kept things rolling as they cruised to win Set 2, 25-13.
An early 11-to-2 run in Set 3 gave UH a 13-5 lead. The Aggies, however would fight back, rallying on a 7-to-0 scoring run to take the lead at 16-15. But the 'Bows did not panic, instead finished the match on a 10-to-3 run of their own to seal the sweep, 25-19.
The win marked Hawai'i's fourth three-set sweep of the season. The Rainbow Wahine out hit UC Davis, .396-to-.208; out-blocked UCD 9-to-2; and out-dug the Aggies 47-36.
The Rainbow Wahine return home to host a pair of Big West matches next week. UH will take on Long Beach State on Friday, Oct. 1 at 7:00 p.m. and Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 5:00 p.m.
