UH closed within three points at 15-12 when LBSU called its first timeout. Hawai'i would trail for most of the set, but was finally able to tie the score at 23-23 with a Riley Wagoner kill that danced along the top of the net before falling in the front corner of the Beach's side of the court. Hawai'i would stave off an LBSU set point at 24-23 with a kill by Igiede which knotted the set at 24-24. The Beach's Kashauna Williams attack sailed long to give the 'Bows set point. Igiede and Lang then closed things out with a solid double-block that gave UH a 26-24 Set 1 win.

After falling behind 2-0 early in Set 2, Van Sickle got UH on the scoreboard with her fifth kill of the match. The 'Bows tied and overtook the Beach on a 10-to-3 run for a 10-5 lead. Hawai'i would not look back and go up by as many as 11 points at 23-12. Wagoner gave the 'Bows set point with a kill and after an LBSU sideout, Van Sickle buried her 10th kill of the match to seal Set 2, 25-16.
