HONOLULU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team had three players make the 2021 Big West Women's Tennis All-Conference Team, including four-time honoree
Petra Melounova.
Melounova earned a spot on the All-Big West First Team in singles for the fourth time and concluded one of the most decorated careers in school history. The Havlíckuv Brod, Czech Republic native sat out for part of the season due to injury, but still managed to post a 4-4 overall record and 4-1 mark in conference play on the No. 1 court. In 2019, she was named Big West Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, becoming the first UH player to attain the honor.
Fellow senior
Nikola Dolakova also earned a spot on the first team with a record of 7-3 overall and a nearly perfect mark of 6-1 in conference while playing on the No. 1, 2, and 3 courts. The Vysoke Tatry, Slovakia native was also named to the second team in doubles with partner
Satsuki Takamura after the pair led the team with a 7-7 overall record and 6-3 in Big West play at the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. In 2019, Dolakova earned her second straight season all-conference doubles honors with former partner, Melounova.
Takamura earned honorable mention honors in singles holding a 6-9 overall record and 4-4 in conference while playing on the No. 2 and 3 courts.
The trio helped the Rainbow Wahine to the semifinals of the Big West Tournament.
