LA QUINTA, Calif. – University of Hawai'i men's golfer
Justin Ngan carded a second straight 73 in Round 2 of the Big West Championships Monday at the La Quinta Country Club.
After starting 4-over after this first four holes including a double bogey on the par-3 No. 3, the Wailuku, Maui native went 3-under over his final 14 holes with three birdies and 11 pars. He is currently in a tie for 12
th place at 2-over 146.
As a team, the Rainbow Warriors improved one stroke from Sunday's opening round with a 302 and is 605 for the tournament and in eighth place.
LBSU has a commanding 10 stroke lead in the team standings with a 570 total. UC Davis (580) is second followed by Cal State Fullerton (582), Cal Poly (586), UC Santa Barbara (590), CSUN (596), UC Irvine (602), UH (605), and UC Riverside (647).

Kanata Irei rebounded from an opening round 84 with a 2-over 74 on Monday and is tied for 36
th place at 158. Senior
Justin Arcano carded a 77 and is tied for 28
th at 152 while sophomore
Kotaro Murata posted a second straight 78 for a 156 total and is tied for 34
th. Senior
Cole Yoshida shot 82 and is in 40
th place at 159.
UC Davis' Lucas Carper continues to hold the individual lead after a 5-under 67 on Monday for a 7-under 137 total. A trio of golfers are five strokes back at 2-under.
The tournament concludes with the third and final round on Tuesday.
