HONOLULU – Six unanswered runs on a solo home run, three doubles and a sprinkle of small ball powered the University of Hawai'i baseball team past UC Davis 6-2 on Friday at Les Murakami Stadium.

Dustin Demeter hit his second home run in as many series' in the third inning and the Rainbow Warriors (17-14, 9-12 Big West) never looked back. UH scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings while sophomore
Aaron Davenport and redshirt freshman
Tyler Dyball hung zeros on the board for six innings on their way to nine combined strikeouts.
UC Davis scored first in the top of the third inning thanks to back-to-back singles and then a sacrifice fly. Demeter responded in the bottom half with a line drive home run over the right field wall.
Two innings later, Hawai'i scored a pair of runs after a one-out double from second baseman
Aaron Ujimori scored on a single by shortstop
Kole Kaler. A double by right fielder
Scotty Scott moved Kaler to third and a sac fly from Demeter plated Hawai'i's second run of the inning.
In the sixth inning the 'Bows went with a small-ball approach and manufactured runs after center fielder
Adam Fogel doubled to right center to lead off the inning. A single by right fielder
Tyler Best moved Fogel to third and a squeeze bunt by third baseman
Stone Miyao scored Fogel.
Both runners moved up a base on a sacrifice bunt by catcher
Tyler Murray and a sacrifice fly by Ujimori scored Best.
Miyao picked up his second base hit and second RBI of the day in the eighth inning when he scored Fogel. Fogel started the inning with a base hit and Best moved him to second on a sacrifice bunt. Miyao and Demeter each ended the day with two hits and two RBI.
Davenport finished the day with his sixth seven-plus strikeout outing and lowered his ERA to 2.93. Dyball pitched his fourth-consecutive scoreless outing and his second-consecutive outing without allowing a walk.
Hawai'i and UC Davis face off in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m. HT.
