Overall record: LBSU leads 48-43
Streak: LBSU, 1
FIRST SERVE
- LBSU leads the all-time series, 48-43. The Beach won the last meeting — the 2019 NCAA Championship match — at The Pyramid in Long Beach.
- Also in 2019, UH defeated the Beach for the Big West Conference Tournament title in five sets to secure the automatic bid and No. 1 seed in the NCAA Championship.
- Since the start of the 2016 season, LBSU has won 10 of 12 matches in the series.
- This year marks the third consecutive season that UH has started 9-0. The 2019 team won its first 25 matches and the 2020 team went 14-0 before its first loss.
- Hawai'i is one of only two remaining unbeaten teams in the country along with Daemen (8-0) a Division I-II independent.
- UH has a 10-match win streak dating back to last season, which is tied with Daemen and Penn State for the longest current streak in the country. Hawai'i has also won its last nine conference home matches dating back to 2018.
- UH is No. 1 nationally in team hitting percentage (.379) and kills per set (14.03); No. 2 in blocks per set (2.90) and assists per set (12.60); and No. 10 in aces per set (1.50). Individually, Patrick Gasman is No. 2 in blocks (1.59) and No. 3 in hitting percentage (.509) while Rado Parapunov is No. 3 in kills (4.33).
- Middle blocker Patrick Gasman needs one block assist and five total blocks to move into third all-time in each category. Currently, Jason Olive is third in block assists (390) while Dio Dante is third in total blocks (438).
- Opposite Rado Parapunov needs 13 kills to move past Jonas Umlauft into 13th place all-time in the school's career kills list.
- Parapunov has reached double figures in kills in all nine matches this season. Dating back to last season, Parapunov has a 15-match streak with double figure kills.
- UH has won six of its nine matches in straight sets and have only dropped three sets all season long.
BUCKS-FOR-BLOCKS
- University of Hawai'i Athletics and 'Ahahui Koa Ānuenue are inviting fans to pledge per block in the "Bucks for Blocks" fundraising initiative for the 2021 men's volleyball season.
- Although currently it is not possible to attend matches, this program provides an alternate way to cheer on the Rainbow Warriors while also supporting UH Athletics.
- Make your pledge here.
